Day 105 Five Miles Is A Start. and Three Things Thursday

I woke up with a mission today. I was going to get five miles of walking in to see how it would settle with my tired legs. I am going to be walking five miles a day on Thanksgiving break ad I wanted to see how well that was going to go. I need some work folks. I got 2 1/2 miles this morning and another 2 1/2 miles at lunch. I have been going hard in the morning all week and like I said, I raced with Lauren yesterday too. So as I type this, I am sore and stiff as hell! Looks like some work to be done between now and then!

One of the things I love about my weight loss so far is that there are so many physical things I can do now that I couldn't before. One of my favorite is that now rather than being "pinned in" behind my steering wheel when I am in my truck, I am able to move around enough to change my shoes in there when I go to Wal Mart in the morning and for my walks at the track too. I love it! When I stand up from my chair, it is no longer an effort. I feel so light and strong when I stand up, not tired and heavy. I also can walk a mile at a standard track in less than 16 minutes now! So, for Three Things Thursday, I want you to tell me three physical tasks you can now do or you can do easier than before you started this journey. Have a great day ya'll!!

  1. 5 miles in one day? That's amazing! Not to mention the way you are working at it, there will be NO problem of reaching that goal by Thanksgiving week!

It's funny that I've only lost 15 pounds but I feel so much better. My back doesn't hurt as much. I walk alittle faster with a skip in my step. And the blog I just posted about being able to sit in the movie theater seat with the arms down. (those aren't all physical things, but things that make life easier).

  2. Do you ever listen to music while you walk?

  3. Way to go Shane... I love the body changes too. Just this week I noticed I didn't have to go down the bus isle sideways cause my hips were to big. I just walked down the isle and out the door with a huge smile on my face!!! Keep on walkin..., 5 is fantastic!

  4. Shane you are doing so well and I'm so happy for you. It's much safer BTW in the car when you aren't slammed against the steering wheel. So you've improved your chances, lord forbid, you ever had a bad accident a very important NSV!

  5. Hey Shane!! You are doing so fantastic!! I was praying for you while I was away! I totally hear you about all the things that have become so much easier without these extra pounds. And it's only the beginning.

I'll be looking forward to your inspiring posts. Hope you have a fab weekend!

  6. Nice on the 5 miles!!

3 things I can do? I started at well over 300 so now I can

    1. Tye my shoes. I used to be embarrassed to go bowling because I couldn't tie my shoes or I would look ridiculous trying to!

    2. Go up the stairs with laundry with out being out of breath. THAT was embarrassing. It was 12 stairs!

    3. I can play with my kids outside and enjoy it. I don't have to scout out for the nearest park bench.

I still have a LONG way to go and I can't wait to find out MORE things that I will be able to do! Thanks!
